Hello, my name is Jennifer Robitaille and I was recently crowned Miss Teen Central Alberta-World 2012!

Here is a little bit of information about me 🙂

I am eighteen years old and am currently studying for my Bachelor’s Degree in education at Red Deer College to become an elementary school teacher. I absolutely love little kids and to get the opportunity to teach them, to inspire them and to make a difference in their lives is definitely a huge dream of mine.

I have two siblings. A younger brother who plays hockey and an older sister who has 3 adorable little kids which makes me an auntie x3!

Me with one of my furry friends!

I was born and raised in Red Deer, Alberta and have spent the last 13 years living on a farm full of animals, chores and adventures. Chickens, turkeys, rabbits, cattle, horses, cats, and dogs were among the variety of animals I grew up with. Believe it or not, I used to sit in the chicken coop and hold the chickens for hours at a time, or even climb under the coop in search of baby kittens.

Lindsay Thurber Raiders!

Because of my height (5’11) I was really encouraged to play sports in high school. Volleyball never really interested me but I did play basketball for 2 years in high school and loved being part of a team.

My 1200lb steer "Taco" and I 2 days before the show and sale.

For 5 years I was part of the Red Deer West 4-H club, which taught me so many new important things about cattle, public speaking and community involvement. I received first place in public speaking for the year 2010 and placed top 3 the following two years. I believe that public speaking is an important quality for people to have; it increases self-confidence and can a very helpful quality for many jobs. 4H also taught me when to let go of a lead rope..You see that big brown furry animal above? He normally doesn’t stand around and wait to have his picture taken!!

One of the things I am most passionate about in life is music. I have been taking piano lessons for the past 8 years and am so glad that I took the time and effort to practice. It truly is fun to be able to play for friends and family on special occasions like Christmas. The songs that I enjoy playing the most are from movies such as Twilight, Legends of the Fall and Pearl Harbor. I also love country music, perhaps because I’m a farm girl 😉 Brad Paisley is my all time favorite country singer. I hope to one day see him in concert!

This is me on stage as the Redken stylists did crazy things with my hair!

Modeling is another one of my passions in life. I have been modelling since the age of 13 and am currently with an agency in Calgary with the hopes of soon travelling internationally to model. I have received numerous awards for modeling including Faces Model of the Year in 2009, first runner up in a runway competition, first runner up in a photography competition and a $1000 prize for 4th place in a photography contest. I have also been in 2 magazines and a billboard for a bridal magazine, been in several runway shows and was part of 2 Redken hair shows in Red Deer.

It is such an incredible experience to be chosen to be in a pageant and let alone win a title. I am very excited for the Miss Teen Canada-World 2012 pageant in July and cannot wait to be part of all the exciting new experiences, learn tons of new things and be part of such a life-changing event. I am certain that it will be an event that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Hopefully you learned a little bit more about me and continue to learn more about me on my journey!
